Since I moved to Canada, Buying books usually involve me randomly stopping by a bookstore close to home on my way from work, reading a few synopses and walking out with a book or two. I rarely buy books online but while doing my Black Friday shopping this year, I stumbled on Book Outlet and thought to give it a try. In this post, I’ll share my experience as a first time customer!
Books are relatively expensive and while I was excited to finally be in a country with access to a wide range of books, I was also not prepared for how much I was going to have to spend. This is why the BMV stores in the GTA are my usual go to bookstores because they often sell pre-loved books at affordable prices.
I decided to try book outlet after searching the web to make sure I wasn’t being scammed because I was a bit stunned by the prices! I ended up purchasing 9 books for a total of $62 tax included.
I spent $62 on 9 books with tax included. Of the 9 books, one was a signed copy!
Now after ordering, it was time to wait for the delivery. It took 4 days to process my order and the thought of being scammed crossed my mind. On day 5. I finally got an email that my order has been shipped with a tracking ID attached. 4 days after that, I got my books delivered. So it took a total of 9 days for my books to arrive at my house.
These books are practically new but they all have a black mark on the edges. Apparently, that’s why they’re so cheap as they get them directly from the publishers. I definitely will be buying more books from them in the future.
It’s almost Christmas, this is your sign to buy some books for yourself! I cannot wait to read these books next year!
