Hello there! I hope you’re having a fantastic weekend. I always have this intention of taking it easy, especially in the mornings, but somehow, I find myself wide awake at 7 am, already diving into activities. It’s currently 9 am, and I’m writing this from my apartment somewhere in Ontario. My virtual church service starts at 9:30 am, so I’ve got 30 minutes to wrap this up.
Reflecting on last year, I shared a mini-journal detailing how my week went, and it resonated well with readers. I’m thinking of continuing that, although perhaps not a daily journal. Instead, I’d like to share what made my week memorable. So, here’s me making it a thing.
What I got up to this week
I had a job interview this week, and despite feeling a bit stressed out, I’m genuinely proud of myself for getting the spot to interview. It’s a highly competitive opportunity. It made me reflect on the fact that sometimes, we stress over things that aren’t entirely within our control. I’ve come to accept that whatever will be, will be. It’s a reminder that life has its own way of unfolding, and we can only do our best.
I decided to make a vision board recently. To be honest, I’ve never done it before. It’s always been something I’ve seen others do, and I’ve admired their courage in daring to hope, dream, and visualize the life they desire. Perhaps it’s also connected to the fact that I got a new laptop at the start of the year. While searching for a wallpaper, I ended up deciding to create a vision board. I posted a video on instagram sharing my vision board.
I’m back to posting on Instagram. Admittedly, I took a few weeks off because I was uncertain about the direction I wanted my content to take. There’s this prevailing notion to have a specific niche and focused content, but I’m someone who enjoys exploring different things. In the end, I’ve decided to just post what feels right to me.
I recently visited The clayroom, and got to paint a bowl. While I don’t consider myself an artist, I found the painting process to be incredibly relaxing. It left such a positive impression on me that I’m actually contemplating buying some painting supplies for myself.
My sisters and I started a bible plan this year and I’m happy to say, I’ve not lost my streak for all 20 days of the year so far! So proud of myself.
I might need a rescue from Stardew Valley. I innocently started playing this game on Friday night, thinking, “I don’t even know what it’s really about. I’ll just play for an hour to destress.” Little did I know, I was getting into the enchanting world of Stardew Valley!
Things around the web
Currently reading Maybe in another life by Taylor Jenkins Reid and somehow medium coincidentally shared this post with me on the butterfly effect.
Ayo Edebiri was everywhere this week and rightly so. I’m currently watching the bear and while it is so chaotic and slightly triggers my anxiety, I’m really enjoying it. Nigerians have been claiming her heavily! I even stubbled on an argument on X about whether she’s Edo or Yoruba. Anyway, I enjoyed reading her reviews of movies on buzzfeed.
What did you get up to this week?
