While I wrap myself up in my blanket on a cold day, I remembered I hadn’t shared anything on my recent trip to Jamaica. It was a much needed break to end the year 2023. I tried to share bits and pieces of my year but 2023 was a year that pushed me beyond my limits and even though, I’m thankful for the results of my hardwork, I’m glad I did not underestimate the importance of rest as I was on the verge of a burn-out. My partner and I had two weeks to plan this trip and our destination was the Excellence Oyster Bay, in Trelawny, Jamaica!
We booked it on Expedia and the round trip (all inclusive resort stay, return flight ticket from Toronto and airport transfer) came up to about $1500 per person. Shout out to my boyfriend’s TD reward points.

This was my first time at an all-inclusive adult only resort and it was everything we wanted it to be. For me, this vacation was more about resting and recuperating after a long year. We had no activities or excursions booked. All we wanted was just to wake up everyday, rest, read by the pool/beach, have lots of cocktails and eat good food. I ended up finishing one of my favourite romance novel, you can read the review here.
The resort has different locations, and to get more information, we were advised to download their app upon check-in. This app was a handy guide, offering menus for different restaurants, details about daily activities, and the operating hours of bars/restaurants.
One thing I have to emphasize is the amazing customer service. Although they were pretty insistent on the google reviews, I had no qualms with it. They were amazing! The food was also amazing – with some restaurants fancier than others. Our favourite thing on the menu was the chicken soup. If I remember correctly, we definitely ordered it as room service every night. The cocktails were also pretty great. I mostly had champagne, wine and the rum punch.
In regards to the amenities, We had a pretty consistent room service, our own private pool and jacuzzi. The gym at the resort was also pretty nice with a view overlooking the lush greenery of Jamaica. Despite our initial concerns about rain, the weather turned out mostly sunny. Considering this, I recommend traveling from December to May for more favorable conditions.
I highly recommend this resort if you’re up for a relaxing vacation.
