Hey friends. How are you doing? August went by so fast and I’m still not ready to accept that the year is over in less than four months. Today, I’ll be sharing the three books I read in August. I’m honestly shocked I was able to finish three whole books because it was one hell of a month – physically, financially and mentally. To see more of how August went for me, check my recent reel.
In the order in which I read them.
The push by Ashley Audrain.
I picked this up wanting a book that’ll have me up at night worrying about fictional characters and just not worrying about real life problems and it over delivered. I was intrigued from the first few pages and it was such a page turner. It explores motherhood in a way that makes you examine yourself thoroughly. The book follows three generations of women/mothers and how they navigated their mother-daughter relationships. It also explores generational trauma and the impact on future generations. I honestly think it’s one of the best books I’ve read this year and I haven’t stopped recommending it since I read it.
The flatshare by Beth O’Leary
This is one of those books that have been on my radar for a while but I finally decided to pick it up after Sogie recommended it. It’s the perfect summer/light read. I really enjoyed reading this – the romance was great, the plot was fantastic and just the way the book was written made me fall in love with it.
Tweet Cute by Emma Lord
This was the only audiobook I read last month. I hadn’t listened to audiobooks in months and It reminded me how much I loved them. The narrator did a good job and kept me hooked. It was such a cute YA- Rom-Com novel. If you like books about teenagers who have to deal with pressure from their parents, then this might be for you. It’s romance but I like that there was a little more to the story than the romance. I gave it 4 stars.
There you have it. The three books I read in August. I had such an overwhelming month and I’m glad I was able to read these amazing books. They were the perfect distraction.
Wishing everyone a great September! I hope and pray this month is way better for everyone.

I have read and enjoyed both The Push and The Flatshare! In fact, The Push is one of my favourite reads this year. Thanks for sharing!
