I get asked a lot of questions especially on Instagram and they’re mostly always similar. So, I thought it’d be smart to put out these FAQs and direct everyone here. That makes things easier for everyone.
I recently moved to Canada & have managed to accumulate so many books. I mostly get my books from book outlet. I shared my first experience with them here. I also try to buy from independent bookstores with my favorite being BMV Books. If you live in Nigeria, you can get your books from Bookpeddler, Serenebox, BookMarketng, & pagebookstore. Check them out. I’m sure they’ll have the books you’re looking to buy.
I use the Scribd app. You can get the first two months free if you use my referral code.
Please go through my Review Policy and get back to me via email. Thank you.
It’s now a habit. I guess I’d say I am very intentional about reading. I used to read on my commute to work but since I started working closer to home, I mostly read after work, just before I go to sleep and on my days off.
Unfortunately, you cannot. I am thinking of setting up a mini library soon. I also sometimes host giveaways at the end of the year. You can follow me on Instagram so you don’t miss it. 🙂
I wrote a post sharing tips on reading more. You might find it useful. I also advise you not to put pressure on yourself. Take it one book at a time.
I use the VSCO app. It’s free and quite easy to use. I use the M5 Filter for my pictures and the Canva app to create graphics. I wrote a post detailing how I edit my pictures here.
I get stressed when people ask this because now I’m going to make it my life mission to find you a book and it’s a bit stressful. I have a few book lists on the blog if you already know the genre you like.
I’m no expert on this but I advise you to keep putting in the work and putting yourself out there. Reach out to publishers (both local and international) asking for advance copies of books. Most international publishers do not acknowledge African book bloggers and the worst that’ll happen is they ignore you or tell you they can’t send you books. You can also set up a Netgalley account and request for eARCs.
If you have any more questions ( not listed above), feel free to reach out to me.
