I did not plan to read anything in November but I ended up reading three books. November was my vacation month. I spent time relaxing by the beach, eating and having a good time! I’ll be sharing the 3 books I managed to read in November.
The Invisible Life Of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab
Possibly one of my favorite historical fiction books ever. It’s a big book that requires your attention but it’s so worth it. I was totally immersed in the story and blown away by how good the storytelling was. Addie LaRue is a character I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. I shared some quotes from the book here. I still haven’t posted my review on here but know that I rated it 5 stars
Nearly All The Men In Lagos Are Mad by Damilare Kuku
I read this after I returned from my trip. It was a light and fun read. Not only is the title fantastic and accurate, the stories were hilarious. Left me with a lot to discuss. It’s definitely a good book club pick and I’m glad I’ve seen two book clubs select it as their December pick! You should read it. I wrote a mini review here.
Legendborn by Tracy Deonn
I’ve wanted to read this since it came out but when I saw the paperback at the bookstore, the font size almost drove me crazy. There was no way I was walking out of there with it. My eyes are probably grateful I made that decision. I found the audiobook & ebook on scribd and decided to read it on there instead. It’s a fantasy novel that features a black female teenage protagonist who is in this boarding school she has always wanted to go to especially after her mother’s death. She soon discovers an entirely different world in there and learns secrets about herself and her family. It’s definitely a page turner and will keep you hooked and interested. I hear there’s a second book coming out next year and I am already very excited for it. Amazing news!
I’m going to be taking it easy this month and focusing on reading for my exams. You can keep up with my current reads on Instagram and stay tuned for my yearly round-up post!
