I’ve wanted to read The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood since I saw it on Instagram. I remember saving the post and adding the book to my Amazon wishlist. I knew I didn’t want to read the ebook. So, when my sister was visiting and asked if I wanted anything, I was quick to mention this book and she was nice enough to get me a copy! (Wahala for who no get sister o).
Summary
Narrated in the voice of Olive a third year PhD candidate who in the bid to convince her friend she has moved on and isn’t heartbroken kisses the first man in sight. That man happened to be Dr Adam Carlsen, the hot, brilliant professor everyone hates. (Just my spec) If you’ve read a good number of romance novels, you already know how this ends so I’m not going to spoil it for you.
My thoughts
This book made me feel warm and happy. It was so well-written that the predictable plot didn’t even matter. I finished it and wanted more. The author also did such a good job with the characters, even the minor ones. Olive is chaotic but extremely adorable. Adam is grumpy, hot and gave “BDE” all through the book. While I enjoyed the romance and the banter, I found myself pretty interested in the characters and their work and although, I’m a medical doctor and not a phd candidate, I found some of Olive’s struggles relatable.
The love hypothesis gave everything I wanted it to give. I didn’t even realize how much I enjoyed the fake dating trope until I read this. It is 100% worth the hype. It’s perfect. 🥺❤️
My rating
You will like The Love Hypothesis if you like:
- Romance novels with the fake dating trope.
- Books on women in STEM.
