Hey people. So I decided to get a few books last week. They’re mostly thrift books and I’m excited to read them. (Screaming internally because I don’t have the time to read these books I keep buying but I won’t stop buying them). I bought 6 books this month and I’ll share all six of them with you.
1. Things fall apart by Chinua Achebe
This is a classic novel and I’m only telling y’all I don’t remember reading it. Don’t judge me please. I know It’s like a rite of passage for every Nigerian. I love Chinua Achebe and after reading one of his books last year, I made a promise to myself to buy more of his books.
2. Arrow of God by Chinua Achebe
This is the third book in The African Trilogy and for some reason the vendor didn’t have the second book (No longer at ease) but I have heard good things about this and I am excited to read it.
3. Where rainbows end by Cecelia Ahern
I’ve never read a book by her and I’ve always seen her books around. I got curious and decided to start with this one and it was really cheap so I thought, why not?
4. The boy with the stripped pyjamas by John Boyne
A fellow bookstagrammer made me get this. She got it, read it and her thoughts on it was intriguing. I hope I find it as interesting as she did.
5. Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult
This wasn’t the Jodi Picoult I wanted to start with but I read the synopsis and I think I’ll like this. Fingers crossed I have the time to read it.
6. A hopeless romantic by Harriet Evans
I simply got this because of the title and I have no shame in saying that. I didn’t read the synopsis but I expect that it’ll be mushy and cute and that’s exactly what I want.
I keep complaining that I don’t have enough space on my shelf but I won’t stop buying books. When I tell you people the addiction is real, please believe me. I keep thinking of the fact that when I have to move, I won’t be able to carry these books and that hasn’t stopped me from buying more.
Have you read any of these? Are you also addicted to buying books?
