What a year it has been. I’m most grateful for everything I’ve been able to accomplish in 2023 and I hope to keep up the momentum in 2024. This post is not to share my accomplishments but to continue the tradition of sharing my year in books. I intended to read maybe 10-20 books this year and I surpassed that by reading 38 books. I was so proud of myself considering the year I’ve had.
Let’s break it down, shall we?
My most read genre was a tie between Romance and literary fiction but I’d say I had more fun reading the romance novels this year. More of that to come in 2024. Of the 38 books I read, most were fiction (pretends to be shocked). I however did read a notable non-fiction book that featured in my list of books that surprised me in a good way.
One thing that was very different was that I didn’t read as much African literature as I typically would. To be honest, not many 2023 releases caught my attention. I hope to fix this in 2024.
I made it easier to follow my 2023 wrap up as I created graphics to go with it.
In 2024, I hope to continue reading more fiction with focus on books written by BIPOC authors, books that bring me joy and letting go of books I do not enjoy.
How was your reading year? What are your reading goals for 2024?
